Devious Journal Entry

Thu Oct 19, 2006, 11:15 PM
Hi. I'm getting back into drawing after a few years of neglecting it during college except for some intermitent doodling. I intend to keep practicing, especially at drawing from real life, and to take some art courses (figure drawing here I come!). In the meanwhile, I'd appreciate any suggestions, criticisms or comments you may have on the stuff I'm uploading. I have far to go before I even begin to approach the skills of a lot of people on here, so anything is welcome.

Thanks!

Sylv

Hi there- thanks very much for your comments on my King In Yellow piece. Probably the best critique it's ever gotten! Those 4 stories by Chambers are some of the creepiest I've read (too bad he didn't continue in that vein). Welcome to DA!

Glad you liked the critique. I try to go into why I like something when I comment on here. I went through the rest of your gallery and I have to say, there's nothing I didn't like. Wonderful stuff!

Chamber's surreal horror WAS great, wasn't it? I also wish he'd done more of it instead of churning out reams of 'popular' fiction. It paid the bills, but they feel like such a waste in comparison.

Hey- no art? Thanks for the comments!

Wow, I'd completely forgotten that I have an LJ-style commenting board on here!

I have some art kicking around it's just...you know. "OK". (Also no functioning scanner except in the office)
